PocketPC Privacy Policy
Effective October 7, 2026 — version 1.0.0 (113) and later
PocketPC turns your iPhone into a desktop computer on an external display. It is built so your information stays with you. The developer does not run any servers for PocketPC and does not collect, store, sell or share your personal information.
What PocketPC collects
Nothing. PocketPC has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It does not use any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. The developer does not receive the content you create or submit in PocketPC.
Information that stays on your iPhone
- Websites and sign-ins. Pages you open, cookies, website data and browsing history are stored on your iPhone. PocketPC also keeps a protected, local copy of website session cookies to preserve sign-ins between launches; this copy is excluded from device backups. Website sign-out and Clear Website Data remove the affected saved sessions. iOS Passwords can fill saved credentials. PocketPC handles text entered through its keyboard, including passwords, transiently on your iPhone to forward it to the website you selected. It does not save website passwords or send them to the developer.
- AI Notes and Live Translation (microphone and speech recognition). Speech is transcribed and translated on your iPhone. AI Notes summaries are written by Apple Intelligence on your iPhone. Audio, transcripts, summaries and translations are not uploaded and are not sent to any third-party AI service. Notes are saved where you choose, such as Apple Notes or the Files app.
- Location. Used only for walking directions in Smart Glasses. Route searches use Apple Maps. Location updates continue during active navigation while the iPhone is locked and stop when navigation ends. PocketPC does not send location to a weather provider.
- Camera and microphone for websites. Only when a website you choose, such as a video-call site, asks and you allow it.
- Local network. Used to connect Terminal (SSH) to computers you enter.
- Terminal. Host details you save are kept on your iPhone. If you choose to remember a Terminal password, it is stored in this iPhone's Keychain. It is sent only to the SSH host you choose over the encrypted connection.
- Diagnostics. Technical diagnostics are kept locally to help troubleshoot the app. They are not sent to the developer automatically. If you choose Share diagnostics, you choose the recipient and should review the file before sharing it.
On-device AI
PocketPC does not include an integrated third-party AI chat service. AI Notes transcription, summaries and Live Translation process audio and text on your iPhone, using local models and Apple's on-device frameworks. Supported language resources may need to be downloaded before use; downloading those resources does not upload your recordings or notes to an AI service. Summaries require a supported iPhone with Apple Intelligence available.
PocketPC remains a general-purpose web browser. You can independently navigate to websites, including AI websites, and any information you choose to submit there is sent to that website as described below. Use Clear Website Data to remove local website data and the website's own settings to manage information you previously submitted to it.
Third-party websites
PocketPC is a web browser. Websites you visit, including those in the Dock, are run by their owners and have their own privacy policies. The start page can load site icons from bookmarked websites. Its Technology News link opens Google News only when you choose it; PocketPC does not retrieve or reformat a news feed. These network services receive standard connection information, such as your IP address. Text, files, audio or other content you submit to a website are handled by that website under its own policy. PocketPC is not affiliated with those services.
Children
PocketPC gives unrestricted access to the web and is not intended for children. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
Use Controls > Clear Website Data, or the same control in desktop Settings, to close webpages and remove cookies, cached website content and saved website sessions. Favorites and downloaded files remain. You can delete notes and files from Files. Removing PocketPC deletes its app-container data, but copies you exported to Apple Notes or elsewhere remain in those destinations. iOS Keychain items can persist after uninstall; to remove a saved Terminal password, turn off Keep password in this iPhone's Keychain for that connection and reconnect.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
